It has active FMCSA broker authority, and the reviews we read are spread across 12,256 counted reviews on Google, Trustpilot, ConsumerAffairs, and BBB. About RoadRunner Auto Transport

RoadRunner Auto Transport is a Bethpage, New York auto transport broker, which means it books carriers from its network rather than running its own trucks. It arranges open car shipping, enclosed auto transport and door-to-door delivery to and from all 50 states. Separate services cover Alaska through Tacoma and Anchorage, Hawaii through California ports, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean.

The $0 deposit is the company's best-known feature. Booking costs nothing, and your card is charged only once a carrier is secured, according to its site. In replies to BBB reviews, the company says cancelling after a carrier is dispatched costs $135. If a carrier arrives and can't load the vehicle, you may also owe a $100 dry-run fee. When carriers are scarce on your dates, it may offer an optional rate increase, which you can decline or cancel at no charge.

Beyond standard cars, the company ships classic and exotic cars, pickups, SUVs, RVs and campers, plus oversized loads such as machinery, buses and boats. Motorcycles ride on a pallet in an enclosed trailer, with crating on request. Military customers get a rebate for active duty, veterans and retirees. Other programs cover college students, snowbirds, corporate moves, dealers, auctions and fleets.

RoadRunner doesn't publish pickup windows. Its replies to reviewers say all pickup dates are estimates, and it suggests booking about two weeks before your vehicle is ready. Shipments can be tracked online at any hour. Up to 100 lbs of personal items can ride in the trunk or back seat below the window line, and overloaded vehicles may be refused at pickup.

Coverage comes from the carrier's policy, and the company says personal belongings inside the vehicle aren't covered.

The company holds active FMCSA broker authority (USDOT 3124544, MC-89820) under the legal name AM Freight Operations Inc, and its federal record begins in 2018. BBB lists it under parent company V2 Logistics Corp, which started in March 2012 and also runs Puerto Rico Car Transport, Hawaii Car Transport and Alaska Car Transport. Its headquarters is at 15 Grumman Rd W in Bethpage. It isn't BBB accredited.
