About NRG Transportation Inc.
From an office on Lexington Avenue in New York City, NRG Transportation Inc. works as a car shipping broker for individuals and businesses. It arranges open car shipping and enclosed auto transport, and it says its coverage runs coast to coast across the U.S.
Net-30 billing sets NRG's business side apart. Its commercial terms let approved accounts pay on Net-15 or Net-30 terms, with invoices issued once a vehicle shows as delivered. Late invoices carry a 1.5% monthly fee. Fleet moves need a vehicle manifest at least 48 hours before pickup, and a dealer that turns a carrier away triggers a $250 dry-run fee.
Private customers pay in two parts. NRG's broker fee is due once a carrier is assigned, and the balance goes to the driver at delivery in cash, cashier's check or money order. Paying that balance by card has to go through NRG's office and adds a 3% to 5% fee. Cancel before a carrier is assigned for a full deposit refund. After that, the broker fee is non-refundable.
Disclose modifications early. Its terms warn of a $150 to $500 price increase at pickup for undisclosed lift kits, oversized tires or roof racks. An inoperable vehicle adds at least $200. Up to 100 pounds of personal items can stay in the trunk, at your own risk.
NRG books licensed carriers and doesn't run its own trucks. Coverage comes from the carrier, and NRG requires at least $100,000 in cargo insurance. Write any new damage on the delivery Bill of Lading before you sign, because its terms say a clean signature waives your claim.
NRG started in December 2024, according to BBB, and lists its address as 641 Lexington Ave, 13th floor, in New York, New York. The company holds active FMCSA broker authority (USDOT 4329853, MC-1690404). It has been BBB accredited since March 2026.
