Held by the carrier, not Fisher Shipping Company LLC. If your vehicle is damaged, the claim goes against the carrier’s policy. Always photograph the vehicle before handoff and document any damage on the Bill of Lading at delivery before signing.
About Fisher Shipping Company LLC
Fisher Shipping Company LLC is an Auburn, Massachusetts-based car shipping broker that books open car shipping and enclosed auto transport for private owners, dealerships and corporate fleets. Its website says it ships to all 50 states, Alaska and Hawaii included. Door-to-door means as close to your address as a truck can safely get, sometimes a nearby shopping plaza.
The quote you sign is the price you pay. According to its FAQ, if Fisher ends up paying a carrier more than it charged you, it still honors your original quote. The company says that price already covers insurance, fuel and door-to-door delivery. If a carrier's rate climbs after you book, that's Fisher's problem.
Fisher prefers a week's notice before pickup. It says it can usually handle shorter notice, including pickups within 24 hours, while enclosed shipments typically need about a week. Exact dates aren't guaranteed, and set dates or expedited shipping may cost extra.
Beyond everyday cars, it arranges transport for exotics, lifted trucks, upfitted work vans, and oversized vehicles on lowboy or step-deck trailers. Dealers can book auction pickups and dealer trades, and multi-vehicle and fleet orders get volume pricing.
You usually pay a card deposit at booking. The balance goes to the driver at delivery in cash, cashier's check or postal money order. Prepaying the whole move by card costs more, because carriers charge extra to wait for payment from Fisher. Your deposit is refundable if you cancel at least two business days before the pickup window.
Fisher books licensed carriers and doesn't run its own trucks. Every carrier it uses has cargo insurance, the company says, and it keeps the certificates on file to share on request. Note any damage on the Bill of Lading and photograph it, or the claim can't move forward.
BBB lists March 2006 as Fisher's start date, and the company joined ACERTUS in 2026 while keeping its brand and team. It's based at 27B Midstate Drive in Auburn, Massachusetts. FMCSA lists it under USDOT 2235479 and MC-545077 with active broker authority. It has been BBB accredited since January 2015.
