About Cheap Auto Trans
People relocating, buying or selling a car, and auction buyers with a lot number in hand are the customers Cheap Auto Trans writes for. The Alpharetta, Georgia auto transport broker books open and enclosed car shipping, door-to-door delivery and inoperable vehicle transport, plus moves for motorcycles, RVs and boats. Its service pages describe the coverage as nationwide.
The driver at your door can't take a card. Cheap Auto Trans says in its FAQ that drivers don't accept credit cards or personal checks, so a balance due on delivery has to be cash, a cashier's check or a money order. Reserving costs nothing. Once the company secures a spot on a trailer, you pay a partial fee of 10% to 20% of the bill by card or PayPal. The FAQ says you can also settle the carrier's share right after pickup instead of waiting for delivery.
Timing comes from the same FAQ. A truck is usually assigned and on its way 1 to 5 days after your car is first available, and rural pickups can take 2 days or more. Coast-to-coast transit runs 7 to 10 days. North-south trips take 5 to 7, and moves under 500 miles about 2 to 3 days after pickup.
The quote covers tolls and up to 100 pounds of personal items in the trunk, the company says. Those items aren't insured. For an auction pickup, you'll need the auction's name and address, the VIN, the lot number and your buyer number before the pickup date.
As a broker, Cheap Auto Trans doesn't move vehicles itself. The carrier's cargo policy covers your car in transit, and the FAQ gives limits from $100,000 to $1 million, with hail, floods and road debris excluded. Note any damage on the bill of lading before the driver leaves.
Cheap Auto Trans started business on May 7, 2021, according to BBB, which lists Roman Khan as founder and director. Its address is 5755 North Point Parkway, Suite 59, in Alpharetta, Georgia. The company holds active FMCSA broker authority (USDOT 3648529, MC-1256711). It isn't BBB accredited.
