Car Shipping Hawaii Inc
This company currently receives an AVOID verdict because FMCSA records show an inactive registration or operating authority required for its services. This is a regulatory concern, separate from customer reviews: positive feedback does not resolve it. We recommend choosing another provider unless updated FMCSA records confirm the required status is active.

About Car Shipping Hawaii Inc
Military families on PCS orders and people moving to or from the islands make up the core of Car Shipping Hawaii, Inc.'s business. The Honolulu-based company books Matson ocean freight from Long Beach and Oakland to Honolulu, Kahului, Hilo and Nawiliwili, and back. It also arranges door-to-port pickup from the 48 contiguous states and enclosed auto transport for classic cars.
Booking online with its AI assistant, K'AI, costs less than calling a person. Port-to-port to Oahu starts at $1,680 online with a $100 deposit, or $1,730 by phone with a $150 deposit. Door-to-port from California starts at $2,280 online, which the company says is $200 below the phone price. That online rate is the only discount. The FAQ says no separate military discount applies.
Matson quotes 2 to 3 weeks from drop-off to Honolulu, and the company says its customers average about 16 days. Door pickup adds 1 to 3 days. Maui, the Big Island and Kauai need an inter-island barge, and Matson puts those trips at 33 to 45 days in total.
Your deposit counts toward the total. The $150 port-to-port deposit is fully refundable more than 7 days before the sailing cutoff, half refundable inside 7 days, and gone once the ship sails. On the $500 door-to-port deposit, a $150 fee comes out once a truck is dispatched. Active-duty members whose orders change get the full deposit back.
Its terms call the company a booking and coordination agent that owns no ships or trucks. Matson's ocean leg carries only limited carrier liability, and the terms cap the company's own liability at your deposit. The trucking carrier's policy covers the road leg, so check your own insurer first.
The website lists an office at 1110 Nuuanu Ave in Honolulu. BBB lists the business at 14400 SW 95th Ave in Miami, Florida, with a start date of November 5, 2020. The company publishes USDOT 3505506, and BBB adds MC-1158539. FMCSA's SAFER system shows that record as inactive as of October 20, 2026, so no active broker authority appears under it. It isn't BBB accredited.
