About AutoStar Transport Express LLC
AutoStar Transport Express LLC is an auto transport broker, which means it books carriers and doesn't run its own trucks. The Miami, Florida company arranges open car shipping and enclosed auto transport for cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats and heavy equipment. It says it covers all 50 states, and its terms add Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands by ocean.
Plans change, and AutoStar's terms put a price on that. Postponing a pickup takes notice at least 10 business days before your first available date. Once a carrier is assigned, a vehicle that can't be picked up triggers a $200 charge to your card for rescheduling or dry-run costs. Delay the move by more than 14 days and the price can be re-quoted at current rates.
AutoStar has 5 days from your first available date to assign a carrier. If none is confirmed by then, you can keep the order open or cancel for a full refund of the deposit. Cancel earlier for any other reason and the deposit stays with AutoStar.
You pick one of two payment setups. A single upfront payment covers the full price, with a 5% fee on card payments. Or you split it: a first payment when you sign or a carrier is assigned, then the balance to the driver at delivery in cash, money order or cashier's check. Maritime orders to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands must be paid in full first, and Hawaii-bound vehicles need a working emergency brake.
Damage claims go to the carrier. You must call AutoStar and the carrier within 24 hours, then send the carrier photos, a written description and 2 repair estimates within 10 days.
The AutoStar name dates to 2007. BBB notes its principals previously ran AutoStar Transport & Logistics LLC, dissolved in 2015, and the current LLC was incorporated in November 2014. It sits at 80 SW 8th St, Suite 2000, in Miami. Its federal registration is USDOT 2239014, MC-600908, and its broker authority is active. It has been BBB accredited since October 2018.
