About AmeriFreight Inc.
AmeriFreight Inc. is a Georgia-based car shipping broker that has arranged open and enclosed auto transport since 2004. It also books expedited shipping, door-to-door delivery where a truck can reach, and transport for classic and luxury cars, motorcycles, boats, golf carts and inoperable vehicles across the 48 contiguous states.
For Hawaii, AmeriFreight trucks your vehicle to a California port such as Los Angeles, Long Beach or Oakland. An ocean carrier like Matson or Pasha Hawaii handles the sea leg, and you pick the car up at the Hawaii port. AmeriFreight doesn't operate the ocean portion, but it helps coordinate the handoff. Alaska moves also pair trucking with marine shipping, commonly between Seattle and Anchorage.
Two things set AmeriFreight apart. First, its discounts are published: $35 for military members, first responders, medical workers and customers who book within 48 hours of a quote, $25 for students and seniors, $50 for returning customers and $50 for each extra vehicle. Discounts come off the deposit, and only the early-booking discount stacks with another. Second, its terms include delay credits of $20 per day, for up to 7 days, if a delivery runs 15 or more days late.
The optional AFTA Plan covers your own auto insurance deductible up to $2,000 in situations a carrier's policy may not, such as storage damage or a carrier going out of business. AmeriFreight says the plan isn't insurance, and damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.
Pickup depends on the rate. Economy Saver aims for about 5 work days, Priority Preferred for 1 to 3 business days, and First Class guarantees a set-day or next-day pickup window. Your card is charged once you accept a carrier offer. The balance goes to the carrier in cash or cashier's check, and paying the full amount by card adds an 8.75% fee.
AmeriFreight is based at 205 Greencastle Rd in Tyrone, Georgia. FMCSA lists it under USDOT 2238770 and MC-597401 with active broker authority. It has been BBB accredited since June 2008.
