Alaska Auto Transport LLC
This company currently receives an AVOID verdict because FMCSA records show an inactive registration or operating authority required for its services. This is a regulatory concern, separate from customer reviews: positive feedback does not resolve it. We recommend choosing another provider unless updated FMCSA records confirm the required status is active.

About Alaska Auto Transport LLC
Alaska Auto Transport LLC is an Anchorage, Alaska, car carrier that ships vehicles between Alaska and Washington all year, with a second office in Kent, Washington. It sells economical and expedited shipping plus enclosed transport for sports and collector cars, and some routes continue past Washington into the lower 48.
Your car rides inside a 53-foot container. The company loads it onto a specialized rack, so it stays enclosed for the whole trip with no cross docking, according to its services page. You drop the vehicle at the Anchorage or Kent office, and the transit clock starts when the voyage sails. Economical sailings leave weekly and take about 10 to 14 days. Expedited sailings leave twice a week and take about 6 days. Weather can push both, since sailings sometimes pull aside instead of crossing rough water.
Price depends on your vehicle's overall dimensions. Roof racks, moose bumpers, lift kits and hi-top conversions all change the number. The online calculator gives only an approximate cost, and a real estimate comes by phone or in person. Delivery past Anchorage or Kent costs extra, and the company reserves the right to raise fuel surcharges.
Economical shipments between Kent and Alaska can carry up to 250 pounds of boxed personal items at no charge, packed below the window line in the back seat and trunk. Expedited shipments charge $150 for personal items. Routes beyond Washington allow none, the FAQ says. Firearms, ammunition, alcohol, antlers, furs and hazardous materials are banned, and undeclared items bring a $1,535 charge.
Liability for personal effects is capped at $0.10 per pound, and the company says it isn't liable for lost or stolen items left in the car.
The main office sits at 4600 Gambell St in Anchorage, and BBB lists the business as started on March 1, 2006. FMCSA registers it as a carrier under USDOT 1468888 and MC-559568, authorized to haul property (except household goods), with six trucks on file as of October 18, 2026. It holds no active broker authority and isn't BBB accredited.
